This series of abstract paintings reflects the period when I first discovered painting, during my Foundation course at Brighton & Hove City College. It was a time of experimentation, exploring color combinations, different tools, and a variety of paints.
The work was strongly inspired by the surrounding landscapes: the rolling hills of the South Downs, the dramatic Seven Sisters Cliffs, and the atmosphere of coastal places such as Shoreham-by-Sea. These environments influenced both the palette and the sense of space present in the paintings.
